Well, remember I was like "three days in office will kill me?" Well, it happened! It's so much worse than I thought. And much more useless. I knew this was going to happen and tried to prep a newsletter and yet here we are, 8pm, and trying to peace something together.
You know - I can tell things were bad because I tried to watch some good ol' D&D last night and I couldn't be bothered to care.
But no one wants to hear about me whining about the capitalistic nightmare we're all trapped in but also sadly, I don't have much to chat about.
**Update @ 9pm - I ate dinner and feel less like setting something on fire. But I still don't have much to say, so let's dive into recs.
- "Brieana, do you wanna watch 2.5 hours about Miley Cyrus?" Heck no! *does so anyway* So a bunch of people have seen it, but there's a video of Miley going through her schedule from when she was 12, and it was packed. It was insane for an adult, much less for a kid. And someone had mentioned a sort of documentary about Miley, and my god, did I consume it all. It's really good - and really sad as well. Like, with stories like these, no kid should become famous. It's kind of horrifying how much they stole from her - money, her childhood... ugh.
- Idk this is a dumb video from Make Some Noise, but animated. It makes me laugh every time.
- I've done some reading while on my vacation!!! Most short books (And I'm working through one long one that I am SO excited about!!), but below are my thoughts!
- Thornhedge - My friend Melissa sent me this one and it was a super sweet book! It's a retelling of Sleeping Beauty where maybe the witch is good and the princes is fucking evil. I always love books like this and would love if they were a million pages long, but I really enjoyed this!
- Love, Holly - so EVERYTHING about this book just screams typical romance. But it's the story of a woman who is estranged from her sister/family accidentally meeting an older woman who is also estranged from her family, and together, they kind of make a family of their own. Yes, the older woman has a grandson and YES, of course, he and the main character fall in love, but all the romance tropes are so quickly pushed past. The miscommunication trope? She immediately tells him the truth. It's mainly a lovely story about how to accept situations, but also knowing when to fight for the things you love. I really didn't expect to like this as much as I did but it was lovely.
Anyway, anyone watch the live action One Piece? I'm getting a ton of Instagram videos about it which makes me feel suspicious
in that they're all planted.... because they all sound the same...
bye!
