Happy Thursday! I would update you all again on my video game adventures but wow - I am bad at Bioshock! I'm on easy and I cannot get past a certain level and have been there for three years. But I did start NieR:Automata and I'm ready to be sad!
Anyway, as some of you know, for the first time, I watched When Harry Met Sally... and my goodness. What was that WIG that they had Billy Crystal wearing in the beginning?? Who did he offend to be put in that!!!! Like okay - sure he was in his 30s or so playing a 20 year old but that WIG was OFFENSIVE to my EYES. Here's the first scene because LOOK AT IT it's absolute garbage.
But beyond that, that was a cute movie! It's also super weird to watch movies from the 80s and 90s. At least New York City was populated by poc but only two Black people spoke the entire film annnnd they were both waitstaff. It also had a weird message overall but you know what, it was sweet and I guess that's what matters! Also at one point I was like "Am I Sally? A single woman who lives in New York City who has to push books onto the floor to have room to sleep? Disgusting that I am called out like this!"
Also there was a scene near the end where Dick Clark's Rocking New Year's Eve aired and I was MYSTIFIED because I had never seen Dick Clark look so young and lively! Amazing.
Anyway, this week has been hectic but I'm glad I was able to have some fun content for you all! Also when your week starts with logging onto your emails and having 900 missed messages, all sent from the weekend...... :) It starts bad!
Also also - if you trip and fall and hurt yourself, make sure you're near people who can patch you up! Whew. Whew indeed.

- I'm sure you saw it but Serena Williams is retiring!!! She wrote a lovely piece for Vogue about it, and ugh! She and her sister have been playing tennis since I was old enough to know what tennis was, and she is SO inspiring.
