Hello and happy Thursday! I had a day of chaotic proportions yesterday and yet, I had a nice time. What a horrifying thought, having good times.
I am working to ween myself off Instagram. I didn't use it much beyond posting about my trip while I was on my trip, but on the first day I was back, there was one day I was on it for over five hours! I don't even remember enjoying it; I just existed on it. So if you're one of the people who have gotten multiple IG reels or posts, especially the 4-6am time frame that I've been waking up at, I apologize!
The year is winding down and no one wants to do anything. My work inbox is lighter (though not just due to the end of the year...), I am ignoring the multiple writing things I signed up to do and have to do and!!! Are due!!!!! This week! (screams) But there's something so lovely about the holidays approaching to sit back and relax and--
Oh? What's this? Brieana actually forgot that the holidays are approaching and hasn't done any shopping nor set up any decorations and tried to schedule a meeting the day after Christmas and wondered why everyone looked at her like she was a monster????????? On day one of Kwanzaa???
Yeah okay I forgot. I was so mystified as to why the shops were getting more packed. Weird.
Anyway, it approaches, so hopefully you're better than me when it comes to organizing and planning things. Also hope work things are lax enough for you to enjoy all the hot cocoa* you want!
*or whatever beverage I don't care, but hot cocoa is seasonal.

- So! I've mention Francesca Ramsey before and I've mentioned The Financial Diet before, but worlds collide in this great interview between Francesca and the head of TFD! They talk about the price of going viral (in a 2012's world), and how going viral today doesn't have the same cost benefits. They also talk about the finances behind getting a divorce, including the fact that if you don't have kids and if you don't own property, you could still be on the hook for spousal support if your incomes are drastically different??? Color me shocked!!!!
- Another great Apartment Therapy apartment tour! This one was notable because the guy found the apartment ON Apartment Therapy and ended up getting it, and because Brieana learned the hard way how Rattan is pronounced! But I love the plants in this apartment. Just enough. But also at that price point... oof!
- Okay so I know we all heard about the three Pinocchio movies out this year. One with the iconic line "Father when I leave to be on my ownnnnn I've got the whole worldddd to see", one with Tom Hanks by Disney, and one directed by Guillermo del Toro and fam!!!!!! That last one is a FILM. It's stop motion and absolutely beautiful, and it has a horrifyingly del Toro touch of him deciding to really set this film in the 1940s because WOW we are set smack dab in Italy at the beginning of WWII! But Pinocchio is horrifying but also grows on you and the acting is great but it's weird and also Death is a main character and Pinocchio dying over and over is a plot point?! Also there's songs??? And the songs are great, I've been humming one since I watched it??? Look. If nothing else, check out the behind the scenes making-of on Netflix. It's fascinating how much work was put into this movie and there's so much love and respect and charm and UGH. I need to talk to more people about the Cricket who, every time he tried to sing, got drop kicked off of screen!!!
