Happy Thursday! This is late because I had lunch at 5pm, ie, I was hella busy today!
Luckily for you all, I managed to read some better books, so this isn't another newsletter about me screaming about bad books. I enjoyed
Quarterlife, which is a book that deals with the next steps in life. Basically, we have almost 20 years of rigid schooling, and then we're let free to a world where there are no rules. I thought it was really insightful, if some of the advice was a little belated for me (as it's aimed towards those in their early to mid twenties), but definitely interesting!
Almost everything else was bad so don't ask lol.
Anyway, how are things going on your end? It was almost 80 degrees here in Nueva York! What the hell, considering I was bundled up to go to sleep yesterday. Absolutely gross.
Also this is a side note, but as someone who watches a lot of Youtube... Imma need y'all to speak faster or have a script. Your Ums and Ahs or rambling is why I watch 90% of all Youtube videos at 2x speed. I simply don't have the energy to give to you!
Apparently it's a holiday weekend y'all! Yesterday was the first day of Passover, Sunday is Easter, and we're in the midsts of Ramadan! Hope you all are spending it with friends and family.
Long work day today and I should probably get back into it. Its... been a week! Every time I take a vacation, I come back with a renewed sense of "I need to marry a rich man" EXCEPT as many have informed me, apparently Jeffy B
isn't as rich as I thought?? I might have to switch my allegiance!
Recommendations:
- Friendships are on the decline apparently! There was an interesting YouTube video that talked about it AND, always on the pulse of my conversation, Anne Helen Petersen did an article about how friendships could be solved if we lived closer. Which, yeah, I do miss college and being able to walk to my friend's dorm to say hi. There's something I'm missing living in a different borough than most of my friends (or a different state. Or a different country) that as much as video conferencing can help, it's not perfect. ...Which is why I text so many memes/have this newsletter! You will never be free of me!!
- Speaking of apartments, Architectural Digest had an architect in to chat about different NYC apartments. Fascinating! Has nothing of relevance to me but I enjoyed watching it.
- And I'm sure you saw it but the new Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse trailer dropped this week!!!! The first film was truly such a chef's kiss of a film so I hope to not only do it justice, but surpass!!
