how much could a banana cost? $10??
Fam, if you can believe if, only weeks after my long Kingdom Hearts newsletter, they announced Kingdom Hearts 4. Incredible. Amazing. This newsletter will be an analysis of the three minute trailer, beat by beat.
I kid. That has literally been done by about 800 people on YouTube already if you're curious.
Also the monstera from the last subject line bested me and now sits in my bedroom. Curse you, plant.
Anyway, the capitalistic machine known as work continues to churn on come hell or high water, and we're all just pieces smooshed inside. But I wanted to take a moment and just talk about... well nothing to be honest! This has been a quiet week that has truly been bookended by Kingdom Hearts 4's announcement and the BAM performance of Cyrano I saw on yesterday (of which... WHEW can we say, Mr. James McAvoy! Why I never!), my brain has truly been soup but kind of a delightful soup? But like if it was 65 degrees outside and I was having butternut squash. Delicious yes, but hmm??
I finally sat down and figured out all the things I want to get done in my life and well the list was so long it gave me a migraine (along with other reasons), but also made me realize that I need to really focus on ~me~ and get myself moving forward. But to go into that is too long, introspective, and a little personal for a newsletter so instead I'll say a few things I've done recently and hope they are pleasant and/or relatable!

- My once four inch tall plant is now half my height and watering it makes me feel like I will soon be murdered by it. But like in a fun way. Like Little Shop of Horrors fun. Feed me, Seymour.
- I met a new friend and kicked ass in board games. Did you all know that when you set to play board games, you should really set aside, oh, 10-12 hours??
- The games we played included Deception, Murder in Hong Kong, Stella, Chai, Evolution: Climate, and a game where one person had a card with a design, and had to describe it to another person without speaking, a second person had to use the soundless descriptions and tell the third person who had closed their eyes and had to built something based on the interpretation. I can't remember the name but I think we were all traumatized by the end lmao.
- All of these are good for kids (except the murder one, maybe ...older kids?), but if any of y'all want to do a board game day, let's GO! Please note - I am competitive. :)
- Accidentally made a himbo for my D&D game (which y'all can check out the first two parts on Game Play Radio wherever you get your podcasts!!) and he is so sweet and lovely and also my special murder boy!
- Finished an incredible book about women in Greek Mythology who are ignored within the myths, Pandora's Jar by Natalie Haynes
- Also if anyone needs my true villain origin story, one of my first roles in a play was Clytemnestra at age 12! :D No, I should not have been playing a murderous woman at age 12 but did it shape me? You betcha!
Anyway, this is a little short but they can't all be 1,000 word essays about why Brieana owns too many plants, right? Right. Onto links!
- Have I mentioned Critical Role on here like 800 times? Well, if so I probably brought up Exandria Unlimited which is perfection and wonderful and filled with hilarious people who enjoy playing D&D. But then they brought back the group just for a 2 shot (I think it's called that?) and legit, it was another chance for the DM to be completely blown away because the player went SO LEFT FIELD and ruined the game but in a hilariously fun way. I highly recommend if you have... oh, eight hours to kill!
- I love ProZD aka SungWon Cho and his ridic skits, but he did dramatic versions of the Sears commercial from the 90s (you remember the one -- the air conditioning commercial where the husband and wife banter and ends with "I'll call today!" "You'll call now." "I'll call now."), and it's kinda hilarious!
- Buckle up, y'all for what I'm calling a user-sent in rec (aka my friend texted me this morning and it's brilliant). Do you know Refinery29's Money Diaries? Well - this one is incredible. Within it, they ask a person to go through a week in the life, where they note down every thing they spend. Normally, it's infuriating, because the person is like "I make $350k and my father pays for my home and I also rent apartments out on the side" and so looking at those people who enjoy $20 dollar waters is annoying BUT THIS WOMAN? I don't want to spoil it, but as my friend said, it's a wild ride from start to finish. There's nothing like reading about someone who makes more money then I might ever make just throw it away on random things and have absolutely NO safety net?? And maybe don't order bagels every morning if they're going to cost you $15 dollars each??????
