How is everyone's focus doing? Good? Mine is truly beyond the garbage! I cannot look at anything for long without becoming bored and throwing it away. Except for one terrible video game that I could truly complain about for 37 years but it doesn't even deserve the minor publicity this newsletter would give it.
I don't even know the cause of my lack of focus. Listening to an audiobook in the last two months has truly been a chore! Even listening to music can be too much!
But hey - at least other things are going well. Except two of my plants are so big that they've outgrown the space they lived and I don't have room for them anymore! I just got my electric bill and I might have shed a single tear because it was either continue sweating all day every day or suffering! I don't even know anymore!!!
Oh wow I am just ranting. But anyway, the world continues on, it's hot but less hot than it has been. I've consumed media. I - I don't even know! I know the whole concept of this newsletter is me sharing fun things and shouting at the void, but apparently that's become a little too literal because it feels like I'm shouting! At! The void!!!!!!!
Ahem.
Anyway, here are some fun things I've discovered this week.
- I binged watched all of season one of Only Murders In the Building and you know what? I highly recommend! It was fun, Steve Martin and Martin Short are delightful, and Selena Gomez also wonderfully rounds out the trio. As someone who can't stand true crime podcasts for people reacting to murders in the exact way these characters did (it's a whole thing, I just feel weird about it, it's fine!), it was fun to watch them have to stumble through it. Except! If I had been mentioned on their podcast I would've sued them SO bad! They kinda deserved it too when they wrong accused people!!!
- I also found an article about the building that features in Only Murders and you know what - it's a fascinating read.
- Here's an interesting article about not only having work friends, but about the first set of work friends you make. Honestly, some of the first true set of work friends I made, I am still besties with to this day. Was it trauma bonding, or was it something more? Probably both! Either way, it's an interesting article. I already said that. Apparently I use interesting too much! Alas.
- So uh - yall like Riverdale? Have you seen Riverdale anytime recently? Probably not - I quit in season 3 I think. but in case for who knows what reason, you want to be caught up, someone did a hilarious recap of the show! This is wild, y'all.
That's all I got! I focused for the longest time in a week to write this. You should be proud of me!!!
