anyone else crawling towards a long weekend?
Someone said to me recently was that if I wanted to start figuring out next steps for my life goals, I had to... *gasp* figure out life goals??? It honestly felt disgusting to hear. How dare!
Oh hello dear newsletter reader! I'm phoning it in this week. It has been hot, my AC is IN and I refuse to turn it on, but I have some beautiful peonies on my desk that will probably die in like two days. But all of life is fleeting so I might as well enjoy them because they were not cheap!
Anyway it's a long weekend for me due to Juneteenth this Sunday and I hope you're able to rest and relax and maybe even buy some books by Black authors! Or support Black businesses other ways but if you need some book recs, I gotcha.
But anyway, I'm going to rest and enjoy the weekend annnnnd send you on your way with some online reading material!

- Considering I have gone to my current office for a grand total of two hours (and I've been working there for about a year and a half!), my boss has already realized that she will probably only see me for a meal because I don't want to make the trek and also I love free food! But this article talks about the failings of working in the office and how not only have we become comfortable staying at home, but no one can justify a good reason to bring us in. That, and if one person is out of the office, it's all remote meetings again. And if anyone makes me trek over one hour on the train to sit on my computer??? I will flip a table!
- Did you know it's banned to eat at your desk in France? I would've been in trouble so many times as I used to LIVE at my desk (and now my desk lives at my home. How the turn tables!). But here's an interesting article about it from NPR, but basically it's good for your mental health and physical health to get away from your desk and see something new while you eat!
- And finally, here's an article from the creator of Kingdom Hearts Tetsuya Nomura about how if Sora isn't in the game, it isn't a main series. I link this because I find this man fascinating because of the bonkers plots he has come up with, the fact that he was somehow more nitpicky than Disney about Sora in Super Smash Bros, and also... please Nomura. It's been 20 years. Please let us be free.
