Happy Thursday!
"Hey Brieana the Newsletter is coming in late today --" yeah well whatever! Long day at work, ran to a doctor's appointment where I got blood drawn and almost collasped on a subway (again! Don't get blood drawn and then run for a while!), and then dinner with a coworker. T'was a very busy day.
Idk if this week was better that last week, but it felt less heavy so that's a plus.
Also many appreciation for everyone who has checked in recently. It's been... a time. :)
Onto some congratulations! My dear friend Maysam just defended her thesis today (that's Dr. PhD to you!) so excellent job!! :D Also it's another dear friend's birthday tomorrow so - Melissa! I hope you're living it up for your special day. :)
As I nibble on an
Earl Grey Cream Puff from Bibble and Sip (and worry that it will keep me awake tonight...), we should move onto the recommendations but also - you should clean behind your stove. Yes, it's disgusting.
Yes, you will curl into a ball crying because how gross it is. But! You should do it.
Also, I know next week is Thanksgiving and the week after, I will not be available, so the next two newsletters will either be very spare/pre-written/not exist at all! I have a ton more planning for my trip and while I have newsletters on my list of what to do, it's not high. But I will always think of you, dear friends.
- This is a really fascinating video about "the marvelization of cinema" or the entropy of storytelling. The Youtuber does a deep dive about how moves just don't even feel like the Lord of the Rings anymore, in the sense of things are essentially paint by the numbers to get the shots in. And overall, I really enjoyed this channel, including another video of his about why stories about the apocalypse feel different now.
- This is SUCH a beautiful home tour, and almost everything was thrifted!!!
- And this is an interesting video about how to have a simpler home if you hate cleaning (ie, don't do all over shelving because you will be cleaning that constantly).
Also, Brieana, what does the subject line mean? Just...
here. The internet is so fucking weird and I am always shocked at how much it brings me joy.
Have a great weekend!
