Hi! Happy Thursday.
I forgot it was Thursday but apparently, past Brie is pretty awesome with notes. But since I never really pre-write my newsletters, the notes weren't perfect, so we're going to go with today being a ~vibe~ okay?
Also! Whew this weather is truly getting to some people. Goodness. Just become someone has inconvenienced you for .5 of a second doesn't mean they desire your ire! Take a breath!
I bought a walking pad so I could play video games and get my steps in (and also almost break my neck, which I've almost done about five times). And I forgot about the upcoming holiday weekend because some of our companies didn't give us Monday off :)))))))))))))))))))
But I did have an author who sent me some BEAUTIFUL flowers as a thank you to working on her book, and considering half my authors forget I exist, it was really a lovely thing to receive.
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful long weekend, unless you're cursed like me, and that if you don't hear from me next Thursday, well, I want to say
I told you so! to the people who said I wouldn't get pushed off a boat!
Onto recs:
My god do I have a lot of tabs open. Luckily I use OneTab but even there, I think there are maybe 1000 saved tabs. Pushing it to the limit, as
Corbin Bleu would say. But two out of the three links below, I found in my One Tab as I attempted to clean it out, and I thought they were fun enough to share!
This is an interesting
newsletter from one half of the podcast duo, Thirst Aid Kit, where she (Nichole) talks about these weird.... men on TikTok/Instagram that make food but make it ~sexily~. Like, a man making food is attractive; don't be doing a bunch of weird things to make it sexy because suddenly you think that's what sells. Don't
caress the dough, you should be kneading it. Idk, I thought what she had to say was hilarious and insightful.
This was a really interesting
TedTalk about how our brains just default to things being "fine" instead of wanting to get up and do things to make out life better. And sometimes, that's okay because you gotta keep moving forward. But you can't let yourself get stuck in a rut because it's easier. And coming from someone whose been in like a five year rut, it's
hard to break out, but you gotta or else how will you achieve your dreams!
This final one, was something a Youtuber recommended! Basically to go to the
Met Collection, download the art there, and frame it. But I'm mainly sharing because I'm super excited to try this! There are a few pieces I visit every time I go to the Met and the thought of having them on my walls is so exciting. :)
Anyway, have a wonderful long weekend for most of yall, and a fuck it, we ball Monday for the rest!
