LONESOME AND FESTERING cover reveal and preorder announcement

The cover says, in an itchy-feeling font, "Lonesome and Festering - Stories by Eric Raglin". The illustration shows a bunch of men in suits packed into a pantry. One of them looks up toward the viewer with a ghoulish face.

Happy cover reveal day for Lonesome and Festering by Eric Raglin (me)! Lou-Ellen Allwood (who also illustrated the cover for The Writhing, Verdant End) pulled out all the stops with this art piece based on a story from the collection (I’ll let you figure out which one). Paired with typography design by Alan Lastufka from Shortwave Publishing, this cover perfectly captures the strange, ghoulish, absurd, and unnerving vibe of Lonesome and Festering. Check out a description of the collection below:

A widower reaches his violent breaking point while giving a tour of a haunted coral reef. A student pays off his lunch debt by toiling in the endless, monster-infested caverns beneath his school. An old woman discovers her fate is grotesquely connected to the endangered toads she’s trying to save. A lapsed member of a queer motorcycle gang returns to rekindle a romance, commit arson, and summon Satan.

Lonesome and Festering is Eric Raglin’s latest horror and Weird fiction collection for sickos, featuring stories about fighting for love, surviving dystopia, and becoming your worst self under capitalism and fascism.

You might be the kind of reader who likes to sample a book before you buy it, so check out “The Coral Tombs,” a story featured in the collection and free to read over at Haven Spec. It’s a good indicator of the weird, queer, imaginative, angry, and sad horror to be found in the rest of the book!
