You’re awesome if you share the signup-form for this email list (http://eepurl.com/IHVrb) or forward this email to a friend who you think this could make his/her day!
The basic idea is to share a part of the interesting things I find on the internet. So here’s the first list: * Sources - Coded Matter(s) (http://www.codedmatters.nl/sources/) : A source of interesting things if you are into modern media. They organize interesting meetups about different topic! * Hacker News (http://https://news.ycombinator.com/news) : My go to feed for spending time. Up there I find the most interesting startups and wikipedia pages. * A walking city (http://www.archdaily.com/443701/a-walking-city-for-the-21st-century/) , a child’s dream come true. I wondered about moving cities and build them with Legos. * Richard Banks (http://www.richardbanks.com/trends/2013/11/01/touch-board-turns-everyday-objects-into-capacitive-sensors-input/) is a blog which is curated by another guy who does a wonderful job of finding techie stuff about wearables and other applications. * If you’re in the market for a lasercutter for DIY things, have a look at the Microslice (http://hackaday.com/2013/10/27/microslice-the-tiny-arduino-laser-cutter/) , a tiny arduino powered one, it’s open source (http://www.instructables.com/id/MicroSlice-A-tiny-Arduino-laser-cutter/) ! * Brain Pickings (http://www.brainpickings.org/) is my go-to source for reading material! If you have a wide interest, this blog is the way to go! * Kevin Kelly is collecting quotes, here (http://kk.org/thetechnium/archives/2013/05/sourced_quotes_5.php) are his most recent ones. * Ever read Isaac Asimov? How about a definition (http://www.gwern.net/docs/1963-asimov-sword-of-achilles) about culture. * Nassim Taleb, write of the Black Swan Theory and Anti-fragility can be followed on Twitter (https://twitter.com/nntaleb) for some thought provoking ideas. * Why showering (http://blog.sethroberts.net/2013/08/25/showers-and-the-ecology-of-knowledge/) with dirty water could be beneficial for your health. (not recommended), but the idea behind is behind it is interesting. * My twin (http://ikbenke.es) curates interesting short films and videos on Vimeo (http:// https://vimeo.com/channels/kijkvoer/55073825) , be sure to subscribe to that! * The Manufactured Normalcy field (http://urbanhonking.com/ideasfordozens/2012/06/24/designing-for-and-against-the-manufactured-normalcy-field/) , for ordinary stuff that needs weirding and the other way around. * Journalism is evolving and Nieman Lab (http://www.niemanlab.org/) is the way to keep you on track. * Want to try living of liquid food for a month? Try Soylent (http://blog.betterdoctor.com/2013/10/20/without-food-testing-an-organic-soylent-alternative-with-doctors-comments/) . * And last, but not least, read tomorrows news at Zap-a-day (http://www.zapaday.com/home/) .
Those are the curious corners for this month! If you have one that you would like me to share, email me at: jsplattel@gmail.com (mailto:jsplattel@gmail.com) .
