Explora III Debuts as the Line's Roomiest Ship Yet

Explora Journeys — MSC Group's luxury arm — just took delivery of Explora III, its roomiest ship yet and the first that can run on LNG. That's three of a planned six ships, right on schedule. After a Barcelona naming ceremony on August 1, she sails a 7-night maiden voyage from Barcelona to Lisbon today, launching a northern season that never repeats a port — threading Iceland, Greenland, and North America — before headlining the line's debut Alaska run in 2027.

Whether you're weighing Carnival's low fares, MSC's European feel, or a step up to premium, this is the map.

Three tools, one honest catch: they all read the same AIS data, so they share the same lag and coverage gaps — pick on presentation, not a real-time promise. MarineTraffic is the raw all-vessel powerhouse, CruiseMapper is the dense reference library with deck plans and itineraries, and CruiseKick keeps it cruise-first and clutter-free. Here's which one fits how you actually search for a ship.
