Crooked Ink - New story: The March
Hello there! 🍸
Finally, here is the first letter sent for Crooked Ink! Also for this website, as for Godsip Club's newsletter, I just switched email service to Buttondown.
In the last few weeks, interrupted by a brief vacation, I've been able to work on a short story. It is called The March. Here is a very brief synopsis: "A quiet English village. A boy and an old man. A revengeful, ancient force." I'm not very good with outlines.
Since it is set in England, I preferred writing it in English. There are some terms specific for that region's folklore that wouldn't be easy to translate. There are some unique words, like the Italian "cazzimma": I challenge anyone to translate it in other languages.
I just checked: my first sketch about this story goes back to February. I remember having the idea when I saw a neighbor walking on a country road. Since then, the concept changed quite a lot, but the core remains the same.
You can read The March by clicking this link.
Other two points:
Suggested background music, or better, what I listened to — it's not for everyone, but if you are subscribed to this newsletter... :)
From today, the latest short story published on the website will be marked with a star ★ in the title
