(The Best Crime Comics of 2024 post from last year over at DSD)
I wanted to try and round up as many 2025 crime comics releases as I could. I won’t sit here and tell you that I have all of them but I probably have a lot of them.
My methodology involves a lot of manual tracking and looking for titles that seem to fit into the crime genre. I follow the “crime”, “mystery”, “thriller”, and “action” tags at various digital comic sites like Hoopla and Global Comix and also some of the distributors. I pay attention to new releases from different publishers. I use digital review sites Netgalley and Edelweiss. Manga monthly release videos and I periodically search out specific terms on social media. Also, browsing at stores, shops, and libraries. Just good old fashioned manual compiling.
Since I haven’t read all of these titles I can’t say how much they will fully square with the genre. For example, there is a manga called Veil: Volume 1: Temperature of the Orange that seemed like it could be mildly crime adjacent. In reality, it’s more of a romance that should appeal to those that love classic films and love stories (but I included it anyway). Because I try to take a broad view of the genre (and genres in general) you’ll likely find a lot of obviously cross-genre stuff here.
Like last year, I’ve included titles that started in 2025, titles that continued, titles that were collected, and titles that were reissued. In the spirit of recommendation I always try to cast as wide a net as possible.
Regardless of the type of crime comics you like, I think you’ll be able to find something you like here. Basically, I’m making the kind of guide or round-up that I’d like to see out there.
In alphabetical order, here are the crime comics released in 2025 part 1.
