greetings

hot pink thanksgiving cactus blossom

not sure where november went! i’ve been Hanging In There; trying to get used to the sun setting at 4, begrudgingly taking little walks around the block, letting myself off the hook when i can. if i owe you a text or an email, please know i am acutely aware of how much time has elapsed and i do intend to get back to you! it’s just that correspondence is my Impossible Task at the moment.

obligatory ‘shop small’ section

a graphic featuring 3 shirts i offer on threadless, one is a buncha moth illustrations, one says “being kind is punk” and the other says “we keep us safe” with illustrated instructions for putting on an N95 mask.

tis the season— so obligatory reminder that giving yr money to small businesses (hi) will have a tangible, positive impact on somebody’s life.

threadless is having decent sales if you want some of my art on a shirt (or something else, they have all kinds of stuff). i recently bought a couple of the extra soft shirts and they’re extremely comfy!

my shop is stocked and nothing costs over $12. thanks to my new eco tank printer, i’m publishing the family recipes zine again (at least for the holidays), so grab that if you missed out before. i also just added a buncha new greeting cards.

6 greeting cards- a cartoon snake that says “hang in there!”, a disembodied skeleton arm giving a thumbs up that says “hang in there”, two thank you cards featuring a frog and a salamander wearing party hats, an anatomical heart with flowers growing out of it, a furby saying “aaaaaa.”

& a new zine!

mini zine titled, “spotify wrapped #2 hard mode: alternatives to streaming subscription services.”

a follow up to my first zine about ditching spotify for a different streaming service. this one is about alternatives to streaming subscription services (i.e. physical media! purchasing or pirating mp3s and what to do with ‘em once you have ‘em). you can read/print it for free at dodiy.org/free. it’ll ship out to patrons in the next couple weeks! hopefully the internet is kinder about this one!

covid safer oly / website corner

i’ve been having a lot of fun playing with CSS lately!

covidsaferoly.com - i created a covid conscious resource hub for olympia this month. there’s info about local mutual aid, a list of businesses with covid precautions, covid conscious artists and makers, an events calendar, and other stuff! i made stickers (lemme know if you wanna slap some up around town) and cards with a QR to hand out to folks in the wild. it feels good to pour energy into a website that will benefit the community and further connect people to resources, especially because my social battery is so limited for in-person activism these days.

i also updated the stylesheet for dodiy.org for the first time in a million years!!!

websites i’ve admired lately:
flyerescape.dad - flyer post for oregon! yes, that is gandalf on a skateboard. 10/10, no notes. did you know olympia has it’s own non-meta flyer post site? it’s pantsonflyers.org (love this trend! there’s a bunch of ‘em).
xerocool.neocities.org - from the genius who brought you flyer escape, this is a hub for cyber security resources (yes the URL is a reference to the movie hackers, i asked lol).

some songs

some albums i’ve played on repeat this month: sleep by babehoven, solemnis by babehoven, chutes too narrow by the shins (i did ‘gone for good’ at karaoke), known weed smoker by pope, new saintseneca, the last 3 songs from mj lenderman’s s/t... adding some songs below!

lotta memories attached to this album for me, and it’s extremely fun to sing along to!

a very fun song that reliably makes me well up and shed a tear towards the end when she changes up the verse :’)

pick apart my brain / then put it back together / the right way / so that I can think after

the first 3 minutes of this song lived rent free in my head for the first half of november, serious ear worm.

last minute addition cuz i’m listening to this on vinyl rn! i like the new place / i kiss your new face / still no piano / same guy on bass

some photos

several CRT TVs displaying the lyrics to rick astley’s hit single, “never gonna give you up” at karaoke.
