greetings
happy spring!!! i’m doing extremely well, while looking on horrified at the atrocities our administration is carrying out :)
new in shop

new stickers in the shop! i’m working on like 3 different half finished zines right now as well. new garden report “zine” headed to patrons shortly! i also added image IDs for all the stuff in my shop.
i have some stickers available as a prize in this raffle to benefit bloom, a community organizer who needs a little help to move into an accessible apartment. all the prizes are really cool and it’s only $3 to enter!
not to beg for sales, but work has been slowwww lol. obviously there are much more important places to put your money right now, but if you want a silly little object from me, i’ll make it worth your while. i’m also soliciting wholesales rn, tell your favorite radical book store or trinket shop about me?
zine friends corner
my friend erin dorney was just a guest on maira’s rad podcast long arm stapler, and i was tickled to be a topic of conversation! you can listen to the episode here. erin talks a bit about pursuing grants to make zines, which i found very interesting and informative. much gratitude to maira for picking the brains of countless zinesters i admire!
there’s also some adobe hate in there, which rang very true for me as i recently canceled my subscription (and had to pay to do so). i was telling myself i needed it for work, but now it’s just me and my beloved cracked copy of photoshop 7 against the world. i’m also telling everyone about photopea, which is effectively a free, in-browser photoshop.
garden report

CROCUS WATCH was in full effect this month! unfortunately most of them are melted at this point due to the rain. but they were glorious while they lasted.
also blooming: hellebore (still kickin’), daffodils, hyacinths, grape hyacinths, early tulips, oso berry.
we’re working on dismantling one of our garden beds to put a greenhouse in it’s place. garlic is happy, some seeds have been sewn, sun gold tomato starts procured (hallelujah). this is my favorite time of year in the garden; spring & early summer- something is always happening!
some photos

this was a busy month (next month is even wilder) but a very good one. i spent lots of time with friends, went on some dates, went to a handful of very fun events.
do diy
i just sent out the big spring cleaning email to everyone listed on dodiy.org, which means i’ll be spending countless hours over the next month or so making edits and getting the site more up to date! i included a humble request for accessibility info in this one- it’s a goal of mine to get venues to include this info in their listings from the jump.
some songs
i rediscovered this song while making a mix for a new friend, decided not to include it, and then it burrowed into my brain and it was all i could listen to/hum aloud for a week. i learned the lyrics as best i could by ear, since it’s unnamed in the video i figured that was the only way i’d get ‘em. but bless aimee argote, i checked the des ark website, and it’s the second song on her “other lyrics” page. it’s called forever baby daddy (lol) (affectionate).
my sweetie introduced me to this song a while ago and it’s been a regular guest in my head.
this one has been the resident ear worm from the mixtape my new friend made me in kind! <3 it is really good to have a new mix tape to sink my teeth into.
upcoming events
lots of masks required events happening in april! absolutely free sharing market, movies screenings, fiber arts meetup + more!
i’ll be tabling olympia zine fest on may 30th, as well as coordinating a crew of volunteers to enforce the mask requirement. wanna do a 2 hour shift handing out masks? pleaseeeeee get in touch with me!! i need all the help i can get!
clover and i are planning to host the next oly punk rock flea market in june, stay tuned!
i just applied for seattle zine fest, fingers crossed. that one is july 26th.
tiny victories
drove the farthest distance i’ve driven since 2014 (bless 101 for not being i-5, fuck you anxiety!)

checked everything except ”bike tuneup” off my list of impossible tasks
sold my first faire wholesale
punched the ‘i said no’ punchcard and did a good job resting

am currently way less burned out than i was this time last year
