better late than never :'-)

greetings!

it’s been a month! i’ve spent it mostly in my bed or in my garden. trying to find joy in every day stuff and slow the fuck down (always). i’ve been dealing with what i’m pretty sure is a pinched nerve in my neck, so every day is a guess at whether i’ll be in excruciating pain or just pins & needles. kinda backlogged on some stuff (read: wholesales, dodiy) for that reason. and on that topic, happy disability pride month! i hope everyone is hanging in there as things somehow continue to get worse. these words from dean spade brought me comfort recently.

zine news

a zine with a tan cover featuring high contrast carnations. the title reads, “posthumous: a celebration of life for defunct DIY music venues.”

POSTHUMOUS is done! patron copies will go out to $10 snail mail tier folks once i get my hands on some more stamps! there’s a preorder up in my shop. i’ll have a few copies at seattle zine fest too. i’m really excited about how the zine turned out!!!

garden report

at the time of writing this:

  • i have more red raspberries than i know what to do with! blueberries + black raspberries are ripening too.

  • currently blooming: scarlet runner beans, nasturtiums, daisies, borage, comfry, thyme, marjoram, hollyhocks, purple heirloom poppies, california poppies, yarrow, carnations, chamomile volunteers.

  • very close to blooming: dahlias, cosmos, mint.

  • got our first tomato and summer squash!

  • enjoyed a bounty of garlic scapes recently

  • i am patiently awaiting dahlia and cosmos and zinnia blooms

some songs

the venue mentioned in this song has a tribute in posthumous! :) i was gonna make a playlist to go with the zine but i would have basically recycled this playlist for best show ever (which i also didn’t use in that zine lol).

this swinging song has been living rent free in my head this month. i really love the sound and the picture the lyrics paint. some aspects of swinging remind me of swimming lol. it’s a very pnw sound that i am very fond of.

this song is because i have a new sweetie :) and this song also reminds me of my former sweetie heather (singin’ harmonies here) who is still a dear friend. listen to their band ther! hire her to master yr record!

some photos

tiny victories

  • turns out paying for dropout tv was a fantastic idea lol, game changer + weed have been keeping me in good spirits despite The Horrors

  • garden is Good

  • thoroughly enjoying all the happy brain chemicals that are part of having a new sweetie :) trying so hard not to be insufferable about it lmao

  • treated myself to a massage in honor of completing my first “i said NO” punch card, started a new one

  • can’t remember much else rn, there was a lot of zoning out in my yard and watching TV this month lol

thanks for reading my silly little emails :) hang in there <3

till next time!
