✷ greetings ✷

hi hello! summer happens so much. i'm gearing up to go out of town and i decided to step away from my shops early as a little treat to myself. here's what's going on this month!

✷ upcoming events ✷

thursday july 20th: antiquated future showcase zine reading! 6:30pm, free, at olympia timberland library. i'll be reading from the new issue of wanderer that isn't technically out yet (and i should have just a few copies of it for sale!). antiquated future rules and you should come! and wear a mask maybe!

friday july 28th: movie nite! oly punk rock flea market benefit. we're showing clueless at abc house, 8pm, $1+ entry (notaflof) with cheap snacks & drinks. in the yard, byo blanket (hmu for the address - yard is flat and grassy, bathroom is down a short flight of steps). i'm gonna stay up past my bed time! i think it's gonna be fun! we've secured the olympia armory on sunday, october 22nd and we're raising a lil money to cover our asses cuz it was not cheap!

honorable mention:
wednesday july 19th a gig i regretfully refrained from agreeing to open because i'm already doing too much stuff, but i'm gonna go see it and so should you! dogbreth & supercrush at le voyeur 7pm $10 probably.

✷ zine news ✷

wanderer 9? DONE. fruit alley mini zine? DONE. family recipes zine? basically done! (just gotta make a cover and verify how everyone would like to be credited). frankly i can't believe i did it. done before my trip! the power of deadlines! this means i will be getting patron packages together in early august, zines will be in the shop after that. now is a great time to make sure your address is up to date! i'm hoping to send the mini to $5 patrons too, so check yr addresses as well!

✷ do diy ✷

my helper andy is working on collecting do diy testimonials rn because maybe we'll actually make some Content for the instagram. if you've used the website (as a band or booker) and you want in, lemme know! as always, send me your fav diy all ages spaces (or better yet, have them just submit their info)! i've been writing up volunteer positions in my barely existent spare time, i need so much help (:

✷ next open no mic ✷

the last open no mic was so wholesome and good, i wanna do it one more time this year! tentative dates for the next one are august 12th or september 16th (if you're interested in coming, feel free to weigh in on the date).

✷ august stuff ✷

besides the ragana show i know i wanna catch on the 4th, and the potential open no mic on the 12th, i'll be tabling "bad girl makeover" market at the olympia armory on august 26th. if someone buff wants to help me set up my table (they're heavy wooden tables that don't fold), i'd be eternally grateful! kyle usually bears this burden but they'll be out of town and i literally cannot do it without hurting myself. i'll have zines, stickers, buttons and whatnot and it's always good to see friendly faces (especially if they're masked :)).

✷ second home olympia washington (SHOW) ✷

the all ages diy space project now has a name, and it's second home (after the dogbreth album). i am so bad at naming things but i think i nailed this one! josh pointed out that it abbreviates to SHOW and i love it. josh is working on contacting folks for a benefit compilation and i threw up this $5 donation listing in my shop (if you donate, you get a secret poster pdf!). i'm working on a submission call for a zine about defunct diy music venues (which is part of why i Finally Finished the other zines!), where all the proceeds will go to the venue fund.

✷ bittersweet, but last show at blade house was so much fun
✷ i feel like i'm doing a pretty good job of managing All Of The Things lately, even with so much on my plate
✷ slaughter beach dog put out this new song and it's been living rent free in my head ever since
