greetings!

january has been next level busy, and Extremely Long lol. i always feel like i have to comment on the ~ongoing atrocities~ at the top of this newsletter, but i think i might refrain from doing that anymore. it’s important to stay engaged and figure out sustainable ways to rage against the machine(s), and i also think it’s okay to take breaks from The Ever-Present Horrors. to quote a tumblr post that’s going around, “i’m just tryna have a nice time despite knowing facts and information.”

1st zine of 2025

is a mini zine on how to choose an air purifier! not all air purifiers are created equal re: covid. this lil zine is an intro for beginners. it’ll be going out to patrons along with the new elliott’s favorite masks mini zine later this week! here’s a cute family portrait of the free covid resource zines i’ve made so far:

i’m also very close to finishing up wanderer issue 10, but i am truly like, stealing tiny moments to work on it with how absolutely wild the valentines day rush has been, on top of all my other spinning plates.

DECAY

big news: DECAY is officially a nonprofit now, and i joined the board! i’ve been in a shitload of meetings this month as we figure out what we’re doing. i am tired, a little overwhelmed, extremely grateful, and incredibly stoked (!!!!!). i’m gonna be working on patreon & substack stuff for that, check out the website and stay tuned!

i finally Opened The Emails and did some long overdue updates on the site. right now i’m working on manually going thru all the active listings on the site, collecting emails and creating a new spreadsheet that i’ll use to sign ppl up for a newsletter service. the newsletter (prob substack cuz every other one has a subscriber limit) which i will use to batch remind ppl to update their listings every 6 months!!! so i do not have to Individually Email Everyone anymore! it’s slow going, but i think it’ll make everything a lot easier in the future hopefully.

clean air oly

had my first volunteer meeting and made a group chat of ppl who have given me explicit permission to bother them lol. i’m hoping this motivates me to actually ask for and accept help!

purifier micro grant program update: 1 purifier purchased! 3 to go. still accepting donations for that!

i did a big update to my lil covid safer pnw webpage this month.

mask bloc olympia is getting ready to reopen our mask delivery request form.

report back: mask chain workshop + covid cautious fiber arts meetup were both so cute and good! it turns out that organizing events specifically for covid cautious people is a lot less stressful/thankless than making public events masks required. i wanna focus my event-organizing energy this year away from public events and towards covid cautious community.

bday break

feb 10th is my dang birthday!! 35!! woo!! i’m taking that week the fuck off!!! do not ask me for anything!!! thanks!!!!!

send me bday mail if you want? with the expectation that i prolly won’t send anything back. but i’d love some lil notes or cards or valentines. i mail out so many valentines this time of year, sometimes i’m like, damn, where’s mine?? lol

elijah stoll is a mad man lol. his newest volume of songs is all bangers. he plays all the instruments, and if that weren’t enough, there’s also a video for every song on here.

i truly can’t recommend this album enough.

• doin’ a pretty good job taking care of myself despite how bonkers busy i’ve been hosting events/working/doing mutual aid

• in my slut era!! doin’ slut stuff!!!

• also having a crush is fun! (when it’s not a nightmare)!!

• 6 months on T! still lovin’ it, even tho the acne finally came for me (and i am growing some very funny looong shoulder hairs)

• feeling very held and shown up for by ppl in my community lately and that really rules, esp as a person who has a hard time trusting ppl enough to depend on them

i hope you’re doing okay despite the horrors! now is a great time to join organizing efforts in yr communities, or start some where necessary! direct action is a balm for despair. and don’t underestimate the importance of staying silly despite it all.
