greetings

thank you so much to everyone who sent me bday mail!!! <3 i had a really lovely birthday this year. i felt very cared for! which is all i ever want on my bday. i’m extremely lucky to have such sweet people in my life. holding the tension of how awesome my personal life is at the moment vs the various atrocities happening rn is… weird, to say the least. ikykyk. i’m doing what i can to make a difference in my little corner of the world.

new in the shop

a pink valentine sitting on an ornate paper doily. it’s a line art drawing of an anatomical heart with a star on it and a line running from it that says, “you are here.”

i conjured up this valentine once the etsy rush was over! i’m super happy with how it turned out. but wait, there’s more! i made a ton of art this month:

3 images cascading on a mossy background. 1. a holographic and black sticker that reads, “choose kindness.” 2. a poster with daisies and chain-link fence in high contrast black & white that reads, “fuck ice. ice out. we protect our neighbors. no one is illegal on stolen land.” 3. a mini zine printed on purple paper that has a drawing of a stick figure saying, “shits fucked! what can i do?” top text reads, “start here.” bottom text reads, “activism jump start guide!”
3 images cascading on a mossy background. choose kindness holo sticker, fuck ice poster, start here: activism jumpstart guide mini zine.

new holographic stickers in my shop + shirts over on threadless! i have a new mini zine, full text transcript + printable file for free over on patreon (it’s also in my shop for not free). offering the fuck ice design as a free printable in the new freebies section of my website and on threadless t-shirts (proceeds donated!).

oh also! i am now selling stickers on faire wholesale! if you know a shop that uses this, pls tell ‘em ;)

mentions corner

i got shouts from two of my favorite fellow creative types this month!

lizzy sheehan included a spread from my freak scene zine in a beautiful piece of writing about coming into their own as a musician. i love their creative eye, no matter the medium, i always find myself drawn to their work.

A Choir Inside - by Lizzy Sheehan - Dead Paper

Composing a Genuine Belief in Myself as a Musician

erin dorney, my long-time friend and the only person who folds a mini zine more exactingly than i do, wrote a very kind review of wanderer #10 for zona motel. check out her work here!

Zine Motel #1: Zine as hunger for another way

Six cool zines Erin Dorney found in the bottom of her backpack.

some songs

my sweetie robin introduced me to this album and it’s been making a home in my head all week:

Fixture RecordsSally, by Homeshake

i’ve been hitting knot’s self titled album really hard this month. krill fans, this band is basically krill! i enjoyed this when it came out, but i feel like i didn’t deeply connect with it until more recently:

KnotOrange

been revisiting the joint chiefs of math and 1994! since they both recently played two piece fest in philly :’) two bands i used to see live at any opportunity. this joint chiefs song inspired the new valentine i made this month:

The Joint Chiefs of MathLook, Here's the Moon: We're on It.

and i will truly never tire of this 1994! video. that’s my hometown! (kind of! it’s the closest city to where i grew up, and where i spent my early 20s).

tiny victories

  • extremely good month!!! felt creative & content

  • unexpected bday gift from my mom, who has suddenly begun using my chosen name

  • spent a ton of time with people i love!!

  • IT’S CROCUS TIME!
