greetings

hello from my winter vacation! i hope you’re having an okay time. this is long so i’m just gonna dive in!

the big gig

photo by my friend clover of my set at DECAY, there’s CRT TVs stacked in a tower displaying the same visuals the are being projected behind me.

the big gig went really well! it took a village to pull it off. all the bands were great, and it looked beautiful thanks to moon kindly doing visuals throughout (and it sounded great thanks to adam doing sound!). i’m really proud of the level of precautions we were able to put in place! william and friends set up far-UVC and conducted pluslife molecular tests for all the performers who wanted to unmask while playing. masks were required & enforced without issue, we had several air purifiers running (smart air blast mini, clean air kits tower of power, luggable xxl, 2-barrel exhalaron). the CO2 levels stayed in the green for the whole event. it was well-attended and people were bopping around and seeming to have a good time. it was a great send-off for tender perennial. i may make an appearance from time to time, but trying to perform these days while also being covid cautious is next to impossible, and i feel more comfortable behind the scenes than center stage anyway. putting on gigs is so, so much work! but it was nice to have a lot of help with this one.

new zine!

new zine: elliott’s favorite masks! shipping to patrons in early january. pls pls pls check yr address on there and make sure it’s up to date! i’ve had a handful of things returned to me recently. i’ll reship that stuff along with the new zine.

report back: not bad! second home didn’t pan out, and i didn’t host an open no mic (but i did host backyard karaoke and clover did a story time at it, which is very ~in the spirit~ of open no mics past). i didn’t develop a drawing practice and maybe it’s time to stop trying lol.

2025 intentions

2025 goals

• host more fun covid conscious events/meetups

• host oly’s first masks required pride (hmu if you want in on planning this)

• get some help/a better system for clean air oly

• host a couple punk rock flea markets

clean air oly’s air purifiers were reserved 60+ times in 2024, and i was able to gift one purifier to DECAY, which lives there on long-term loan (i would like to get more purifiers into community spaces in 2025! and also fund the dang grant program).

how to support your nonbinary family member zines sold: 291 - way down from previous years, hopefully that means there’s a lot more trans-competent family members out there!
