Urania 2.0 development update, podcast appearance, and moving Urania to the web.
Hey folks. It’s been *checks watch* almost 4 years since I last emailed you. I appreciate all of your love and support over the years you have given me with Urania. Without your encouragement, I would have never turned my Lockdown Project into something real. I’ve been delighted to hear all the fun and crazy ways you were using the software in your practice!
I’ve been busy working on a new project and participating in an episode of Heather Freeman’s amazing podcast Magic in the United States. Haven’t caught an episode yet? What better place to start than this week’s episode, featuring yours truly and my partner Jake talking about our astrology journey and our partnership in building the next version of Urania.
We are calling the new project Cosmic Plumbing. Or, just Cosmic for short.
Cosmic is taking that one-person project on electional astrology and bringing in an amazing designer to help make it an actually professional app. You all had amazing suggestions on how we can improve Urania… we have taken all of those suggestions and crafted them into a piece of software that looks and feels a bit more like what I always wanted Urania to be.
Cosmic is fully on the web but, unlike other online astrology tools, it’s fast. Like, how fast?
I didn’t speed this up. This is how fast it is. No small feat on a web browser!
Urania will always be available to download and use and share. My promise to all of you was that Urania would be free forever. I intend to keep that promise for all of Urania’s features in Cosmic as well. All of the things you can do in Urania will be free in Cosmic and will be a little easier and (hopefully) more friendly to use. We may ask a reasonable monthly fee for some of the more fancy features. By paying for Cosmic you will help support our mission for great tools for astrology practitioners and ensure that the community has access to the best technology available so that the focus becomes the art of astrology, not wrestling with the tools.
While we aren’t ready to unleash Cosmic on the world just yet, we are working hard to release our closed beta for professional practitioners by early 2025.
