The American Society for Nutrition (ASN) has announced that its annual meeting, NUTRITION 2023, will take place in Boston, MA, USA, July 22-25, 2023. NUTRITION 2023 is the premier meeting for the nutrition community, exploring developments in clinical and translational nutrition, food science and systems, diet and disease, basic science, global health, and more. Zinc and iron adequacy and relative importance of zinc/iron storage and intakes among breastfed infants

Neonatal nutrient storage and supplies from breast milk contribute to nutrient status and growth of infants during their early life. This study investigated the adequacy of zinc and iron intakes among breastfed infants during the first 4 months and determined the relative importance of zinc/iron storage versus nutrient intakes with infant's biochemical status and growth.

Breastfeeding duration is associated with higher adiposity at 6-8 months of age

Breastfeeding (BF) has been identified as a protective factor against childhood obesity. However, evidence of the association between BF duration and adiposity remains inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the association between BF duration and body composition during infancy. 

A Nutrition Behavior Change Program Moderately Improves Minimum Diet Diversity and Handwashing Behaviors Among Tea Workers in Assam and Tamil Nadu, India

Many workers in global supply chains remain nutritionally vulnerable despite the income they earn. The Seeds of Prosperity program was implemented in Tamil Nadu and Assam, India, for tea supply chain workers (estate workers, small holder farmers, and farm workers). The aim was to enhance demand for diverse and nutritious foods and improve practices related to handwashing.

Nutrition modeling tools: a qualitative study of influence on policy decision making and determining factors

Nutrition modeling tools (NMTs) generate evidence to inform policy and program decision making; however, the literature is generally limited to modeling methods and results, rather than use cases and their impacts. We aimed to document the policy influences of 12 NMTs and identify factors influencing them.
