One Health Joint Plan of Action launched to address health threats to humans, animals, plants and environment — www.who.int

This first joint plan on One Health aims to create a framework to integrate systems and capacity so that we can collectively better prevent, predict, detect, and respond to health threats. One Health Joint Plan of Action was launched by the Quadripartite – the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Organisation for Animal Health. Ecuador to celebrate nutrition champions throughout its municipalities — scalingupnutrition.org

As part of its efforts to step up the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement’s multisectoral and multi-stakeholder approach, the Ecuador Technical Secretariat to combat chronic childhood malnutrition has launched an initiative to award nutrition champions from among local authorities. Awards ceremony slated for late November 2022. More information on the initiative in Spanish here.

World Food Forum: Young people’s role in transforming agrifood systems at the heart of global youth event — www.fao.org

Rome, Italy. The World Food Forum’s Global Youth event kicked off this week as young people from various corners of the globe gathered to brainstorm ways in which to transform agrifood systems.Young people will discuss and advocate for ways to ensure access to safe, sustainable, nutritious food and healthy diets.

Micronutrient deficiencies among preschool-aged children and women of reproductive age worldwide: a pooled analysis of individual-level data from population-representative surveys
