CSS Club NYC #1 recap / meetup #2
Hi friend,
We held CSS Club NYC #1 a little under 2 weeks back on August 15th. (This email should have gone out last week, but the writer is very good at procrastinating.)
Our first event could not have gone better!
- We had about 40 people in attendance. This feels like capacity for us, we want to keep it small and cozy
- We enjoyed talks about color in CSS, being bad at CSS, and the consistent, explosive growth of CSS
- After the talks, we caught up and talked shop. The venue used to be a bar, so it's great for that sort of thing
- It was excellent to share space with so many people interested and invested in how we style the Web
A huge thank you to everyone that helped make our first gathering a success.
- Thank you to our speakers; Matthew Ström and David East (I also spoke, but it's weird to thank myself)
- Thank you to our crew; Rachel Mayse and Brenda Storer
- Thank you to everyone that bought a ticket, showed up, and enjoyed a couple hours with us on a Tuesday evening
CSS Club NYC #2
This will be a monthly event on the third Tuesday of the month. We're getting organized for September's now.
- September 19th at 7pm at Resobox East Village
- Tickets on sale now
- We have our first speaker confirmed
- We're looking for two more speakers
- You should submit a talk or encourage someone else to submit one
As always, thank you for your support,
—Tyler and the CSS Club NYC Crew
