CRpTAC in CHICAGO, 11/22!
On Saturday, 11/22, at 7:30pm, CONNOR RATLIFF presents THE ACTING CLASS will be performed at the Greenhouse Theater Center in Chicago, for ONE NIGHT ONLY!
This is the same venue where my dad did improv shows, under the direction of Del Close, in 1971, back when it was called The Body Politic.
The group was called The Chicago Extension, and you can see my dad's picture twice on their team poster, above (2nd from left, top row; 3rd from right, 2nd row). You can also see the venue address on the Dream Theater poster.
54 years later, I am going to be doing my one-prov show in the same building.
I have only ever done one show in Chicago! It was last year's Comedy Bang Bang show at the Chicago Theatre, where I played the role of Ed Debevic. If you know anyone who was at that show or enjoyed listening to it later on the podcast, please tell them about this show I’m about to do at GTC. If I can get even a small portion of the people who were at that show to learn that this one is happening, I will sell out very quickly, that's how well that CBB show went.
I have 2 months to get the word out that CRpTAC is happening in Chicago. In an ideal world, it goes so well that I can return every year and do more shows! If you have friends in Chicago that you think might like what I do, please tell them about this show!
ALSO: The George Lucas Talk Show is happening the following night, on 11/23 at The Den. It is nearly sold out and we haven’t even announced the guests yet!
I’m also looking into the possibility of doing an improv workshop while I’m in Chicago, if I can make it happen and there is enough interest. I will let you know!
