To launch the revamped Women's Film & Television History Network website, on Thursday 13th January 5.30-7.30pm we're hosting an evening of events that focus on women's film and television history. Programme of events:
5.30-5.45 Nathalie Morris in discussion with Melanie Bell about women and archiving at the BFI and the Academy
5.45-6.30 Sarah Arnold's book Gender and Early Television: Mapping Women's Role in Emerging US and British Media, 1850-1950 (Bloomsbury, 2021) with a short presentation by Sarah discussing her research for the project and how her participation in the networkâs conference played a part. Kate Murphy will introduce Sarah and open up discussion to questions.
6.30-7.00 Sarah Smyth and Daisy Richards will lead the relaunch of our revamped website, showcasing its new resources and how it can benefit and support our members. There will be time for questions at the end.
