New Issue of VIEW Journal: With and Against the Grain – Creative Dialogues with Broadcast Archives
Dear reader,
We are pleased to announce the publication of a new issue of VIEW Journal of European Television History and Culture.
This issue explores experimental and imaginative modes of engaging with and being in dialogue with broadcast archives. The authors seek to challenge norm-bound conventions of academic writing and in doing so, broaden the horizon of what counts as knowledge production in television scholarship. Featuring contributions from media scholars, artists, practitioners, and broadcast archivists, the issue also critically examines silences, power relations, and inequalities embedded in archive-based research.
Edited by Bas Agterberg, Lisa Kerrigan, Dana Mustata, and Alistair Scott (Media Studies Commission of the International Federation of Television Archives FIAT/IFTA) it offers a timely and stimulating intervention in contemporary television and archival studies.
