#19 - 2022 Edition. Finally!

Accessibility and Lobstah Rolls

Hello Friend!

2022 is here and so is the newsletter. Let’s do this!

2021 is finally behind us and 2022 is upon us. With 2022 comes a few things I am looking forward to achieving (in no particular order).

  1. Chairing the W3C Error Handling subgroup
  2. A new, part-time position with the Centre for Inclusive Design in Sydney, NSW, Australia
  3. Write an article for A List Apart
  4. At some point, a lead role at the company I work for, WebstaurantStore
  5. Speak at three live conferences (with mask & safety protocols)
  6. 500 YouTube subscribers (more on this below)

The Podcast

I hit the 200 subscriber mark and in 2022, I am looking for 300 more. I would, at some point, want to get the channel monetized. I am still without a sponsor and need to find a way to offset costs from the podcast.

For the audio portion, at last glance, I had over 1,700 listens. I’d like to double that as well and hopefully get some monetization from that venue as well.

Writing

I am currently writing an article that I have put off for far too long for the A11y Project. I’ll hopefully get that wrapped up soon. I’ve put it off far too long.

Speaking

I have been selected to speak in Atlanta at DevNexus. With everything going on these days as far as the pandemic, this is my gauge to give travel a shot even though it looks like madness as I watch the media (even though I don’t trust the media, which is a story for another day).

To wrap this newsletter up, look for some more announcements as the year progresses and Happy 2022, let’s own it.
