Dear Artists,
You did it! We are in Week One of reading The Artist’s Way. The book opens with the invitation to look at some of our deepest core wounds, so if you’ve already been a bit activated - that makes sense. Keep using your morning pages as a way to cradle yourself and the artist child within. Even if that shit feels incredibly cheesy, give it a try. This experience is all about recovering your sense of self and artistry, much of which gets lost very early on.
This week we become willing to see that we don’t just need to surround ourselves with art and artists, but that we are that very thing ourselves. To leave the idea of being a shadow artist behind, we come into our own true creative desires. While in a lot of my teaching and on my podcast I say you don’t have to identify as an artist, I invite you this week to try on the term and see how it feels. This is in an effort to take yourself more seriously, committing to the deliberate act of creation.
