The Tapestry and The Web : Behind the Scenes of Business

Welcome to another installment of Behind the Scenes of Business for paid subscribers of Monday Monday. I write to you from the melting snow of Northern Michigan where it was 65 degrees yesterday. Hope lingers in the air, love fills my heart, June is sleeping sweetly on my legs.
Today I come to you with my process of how I created my next online class, The Tapestry and The Web, named after the book of poems by Joanne Kyger. I’ll walk you through the invention process, organizing my notes, and my promotional strategies. This class explore journaling as both a contemplative practice and a space to generate new writing. We will write a lot! Class starts this Sunday March 16 at 9am PST / 12pm EST
I start every new project with a blank document. You can use Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Notion, Obsidian, Notes, Figjam, anything that you like to brainstorm new ideas in will suit you just fine. I used a Google Doc because I am really enjoying the tab function for organizing different sections of my brainstorming.
This project started as part of my MFA at Naropa where I am in my second semester. This class was the final project of my first semester and visioning it was a total delight. At first I thought it was going to take a different form - as a physical newsletter - and then it later became clear it wanted to be a class.
