The In Between Season
Dear Reader,
In the north we are in what I call The In Between Season. There is no more snow, the flowers have started to emerge, and the buds are showing themselves. There are no leaves yet and the days are gray with rain.
I do not hate this weather, but I long for the full blossom, the full bloom. I long to be amidst the flowers and have my home cocooned by the forest, no signs of the horse fence across the road.
My work is shifting. I know I am here to teach and to write and I am grateful to have professional systems in place for those practices. But what I want to teach and write about is changing rapidly before my eyes. I naturally worry that you, the reader, won’t want to carry on with me. I know many of you have seen me through significant shifts and stayed the course. I also know that those who leave the ecosystem were not meant to stay.
On Saturday I taught a beautiful group The Cartography of Time. If you missed class you can buy the recording here and it will be automatically sent to you, including a very cool google doc you can edit with tables to organize your time.
During class I saw how much more space I want to devote to movement : walking in the woods, my own Pilates practice, teaching Pilates, and even just soaking in the bathtub and feeling my spine. I want to feel into my body more.
I keep scheduling my days beyond my capacity, when I know I need to hold steady on my commitments to myself. Alas, I want so badly to be with the people and be at events and host and stretch myself to meet the demands of the world. I also know which hours are best for me to write, the importance of an early bed time, and the devotion it takes to keep my pace.
The love I feel in my heart continues to grow as I explore partnership again. It feels so easy, in a way that never has. Its own in between season. The in between of love. When you have seen each other in the battlefield of pain but also are new enough that the honey moon weaves into everything.
I have so many ideas, bursting at the seams. Please pray that Christina at the township approves all my building permits that Tim at the township said I didn’t need permits for but now Christina says I do. May the roadside stand manifest!
I will be up from 5-7am every morning this week to finish a round of edits on my book. No co-working just me and a candle. I find this to be my most efficient time.
I cherish you! Thank you for reading each week. Sometimes not much to say, and sometimes so much.
Always building the archive.

CLASSIFIEDS : Want to wander through remote Utah canyons and sleep on warm sand under the moon with a group of other women, trans and non-binary people? The vibes will be great.
