RAFFLE FOR GAZA - OPEN THROUGH SAT JUNE 2
I find that in moments of hopelessness and despair we must take action. As artists we can use the resources we have, what is around us, what we have created, and let them speak ideas and truth to us.
I originally made this banner to process my own grief, share it publicly, and hang it in my studio. I feel now that this banner may belong to someone else and to use it to generate funds for The Sameer Project : A donations based aid initiative working to supply emergency funding to the displaced families in Gaza.
The “Sameer Abu Salim Tent Initiative” (named after one of their team member’s martyred father) was formed to secure, purchase, and distribute tents in Southern Gaza, with the hope of expanding very soon to the North as well.
I am raffling this banner off and every US entry will receive a postcard of the banner - anyone can enter the raffle - I will ship the banner anywhere in the world - but only mail postcards to USA addresses

Every artist, freelancer, self employed person I have spoken to in the last few days feels a level of meaningless in our work. The emptiness and sorrow of watching a full on genocide, not just in Palestine but in Sudan, Congo, the pain and suffering in our own neighborhoods. How do we have enough time to grieve, to act, and to just keep going?
The images coming out of Rafah are haunting and stop me in my tracks. I don’t think we can do business as usual, today business looks like taking my skills, time, and resources to bring attention to this madness funded by the US government and ask my community to join me in redistributing funds.
May we find the smallest ways to make a difference, to make a dent, may this small raffle generate thousands of dollars. May you hang your postcard somewhere proudly. And may the winner of the banner fly it high.
