Cooperative Culture Workshops

After running the first co-op culture workshop with Roger, last month, we realized that hosting them on Saturday afternoons in the fall might have been a mistake (sorry Buckeye fans!), so we’re rescheduling and condensing the timeline a bit!
In this workshop series, Roger will guide us through his keys to creating a cooperative culture–a practical framework for understanding how group culture forms and how we can shape it intentionally.
How meaning, norms, and social practices interact to weave a group culture out of individual actions
Why self‑development is the foundation of cooperative development
How stress regression undermines our capacity to interact cooperatively
Why power plays are antithetical to cooperation
How cooperative negotiation offers a viable alternative social practice for resolving differences
The pitfalls of positional bargaining and personal rescue
We intend for this series to be hands-on, reflective, and designed to help groups build cooperation consciously rather than leaving it to chance.
Self development and stress regression covered on Thursday, November 5th, 6pm-8pm, at Grandview Heights Public Library, meeting room A.
Power plays and cooperative negotiation on Thursday, November 19th, 6pm-8pm, at Grandview Heights Public Library, meeting room A.
Bargaining + rescue and wrapping up on Thursday, December 3rd, 6pm-8pm, location TBD.
Each session builds on the last, and we encourage you to attend all three if you can!
That’s all for now!
In Solidarity,
Ben, Co-op Columbus
