Join us for a nature stroll through Lime Hollow Nature Center as we participate in the PRI Summer iNaturalist BioBlitz of the East Finger Lakes region.
No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and a phone or camera to record your observations! This will be slower paced with frequent stops to photograph and identify nature.
Check the next image for more info on how to participate!
What is a BioBlitz?
A BioBlitz is an event where the goal is to identify and record as many species as you can in a specific location during a specific time frame using the iNaturalist app. This info helps researchers track local biodiversity, and it's a great way to learn more about the plants and animals in our local ecosystems!
New to iNaturalist? No problem. We'll start with a quick overview of what a BioBlitz is, how iNaturalist works, and we'll help you get set up. Then we'll head out and snap photos of plants, bugs, birds, fungi (and anything we spot) helping each other out with identifications along the way.

Join us this Saturday morning for a trip to Lime Hollow Nature Center where we'll spend some time noticing and appreciating nature all around us! The Paleontological Research Institution by Cayuga Lake hosts a BioBlitz event one weekend every season, and this will be our first time participating πŸ„β€πŸŸ«πŸ“Έ

Everyone is welcome, whether you're an expert identifier or a total beginner. We've found that teaching each other out on the trail is one of the most fun & memorable ways to increase your knowledge of CNY flora & fauna.
