May Updates & Improvements
Hey!
Jordan here. I hope you’re having a great day so far. It’s raining here, but I’ve got my coffee and a few minutes of silence so I thought I’d update you on what’s been happening with Closet Assistant.
There were lots of ups and downs over the last several weeks. Poshmark made some changes to their site that impacted some users, Firefox took down the app for a day until I made some changes (formalities, nothing serious), and of course, when you’re trying to fix stuff fast there’s a couple of bugs shipped. One day I’ll learn.
Well, now the app seems to be in a pretty good spot. It’s quite stable, and quite usable. It’s also much, much better than it was before in accuracy and reliability. The latest version is 1.12.6.
Sharing in the background
I think this is my most favorite improvement. I had made some changes a month or two ago that made the app better at understanding when an item was actually shared, but with that it made the app almost unusable in the background. When you went to a different tab in your browser, the app all but stopped sharing.
Not anymore! In fact, it’s incredibly reliable in the background. Also, it tells you that it’s sharing in the tab title at the top of the browser ☝️ so even if you’re in a different tab you can know it’s still doing it’s thing.
This applies to following and organizing as well. Speaking of organizing…
An improved closet organizer
I made some big changes to the closet organizer in the app. Namely:
- A different dragging system that is simple, fast, and more reliable.
- Quick buttons to send items to the top/bottom of the list.
- Foreground sharing (so it can bypass CAPTCHAs for large closets)
It’s way more usable, and very quick to get your closet in the right order. Definitely check it out!
I probably wouldn’t use it to organize 1000+ items (just because that’s a lot of dragging and sharing), but certainly for the first 100 - 200 or so items in your closet it’s golden.
Select items
Select items is a feature that I’ve talked about before, but it’s pretty new and I don’t know if a lot of you have tried it out.
It’s at the bottom of the sharing tab. It allows you to select the items you want to share.
So, for instance, if during a party you only want to share specific items, then you can just select the ones you want to share (instead of sharing all of your items).
It’s also handy for quickly sharing the first 5-10 items of someone’s closet (for those of you in share groups). Just enable select mode, pick your items, and share!
It’s also useful as a backup closet organizer, because when it shares it puts the items in the order you select them. So, you could select the items you want at the top of your closet and know the exact order they’ll be in after sharing.
What’s coming next
As always I have a lot of plans and ideas. I’m going to be working on:
- Writing new content for the blog to help you make more sales and use Closet Assistant affectively.
- Improving iPhone/iPad installation instructions.
- Adding a few more small features over the next couple of weeks.
I’m excited as always to keep working on the best Poshmark bot out there. I hope you continue to crush your sales, and use all of that time you save on something that matters to you!
Jordan ✌️
P.S. If you made it all the way to the end of this email, send me a response with how Closet Assistant has made an impact on your Poshmark closet. I’d love to hear some feedback!
