Good day CATs!
In case you’ve missed it, it’s COP26, this week, and if you want to feel like you’re doing something too about the climate crisis, we have a few links for you. If you want something quick to do, you can sign this emergency appeal for climate action from climate youth (https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/climate_action_now_loc/) . If you want something a bit more substantial we’ve linked to a larger read in the news highlights (https://www.newscientist.com/article/2291988-the-5-roles-you-may-have-to-affect-climate-change/) , from a peer reviewed paper, outlining the roles available to you as a member of the top 10% globally (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41560-021-00900-y.epdf?sharing_token=YV9wlkfcEpRIWMzkOq69n9RgN0jAjWel9jnR3ZoTv0Om2BuE9A_nvyvvYOVvy1sG9uK5TON_KPI6IwmPmBJ6cJwK-Bi9RWCDsU4ke6UGhL7-tb5EqhD0bVZKWHHKyx5J_vhAy2bE__yvSbjhJcIBETSun7_eVpLKPFKa8Rqpl24%3D) .
If you can’t be at COP26, but you’re interested in following along with any of the virtual events, remember we have the #livestream-chat channel (https://climate-tech.slack.com/archives/C013NG33KTQ) , to follow along with other CATs.
Remember, you can unsubscribe (https://tech.us19.list-manage.com/unsubscribe?u=08b8a799dd414ce9163cf3474&id=97c1d5f785&e=[UNIQID]&c=ed57df8e4a) from this newsletter at any time.

** ð¬ CAT Events
CAT Coffee
CAT Coffee events are regular, open opportunities to mingle, share ideas, discuss things or just meet other CAT members. The topics weâll discuss will vary at every event depending on who shows up! Any CAT member can join - you don’t need to be new to drop in!
At the beginning of the event thereâll be an optional 10m presentation where you can learn more about the CAT community and weâll end with and an optional 15m chat where you can learn more about volunteering in the CAT community.
Weâll use our #cat-coffee channel (https://climate-tech.slack.com/archives/CN459CBN3) to share resources & links during and after the CAT coffee event
Sign up via meetup (https://www.meetup.com/cat-global/events/)
CAT Salon ⢠1h Our “CAT Salons” are regular, thematic community discussions. We start with an 8-10 minute presentation from a lead discussant to level-set our conversation. This is then followed by 45 minutes of facilitated community interaction on the topic. We run our Salons in western-friendly and eastern-friendly timezones.
Join our Meetup group (https://www.meetup.com/cat-global/events/) to get notified for the next CAT Salon
:doughnut: CAT Roulette - 30mins - whenever you find a time
We’re continuing our programme of letting members connect to 1 other CAT member every second week for a nice beverage and chat about climate and tech. It’s a nice way to get to know other CATs, and you can start and stop at any time. Joining the #cat-roulette (https://climate-tech.slack.com/archives/C0202J3UYG7) channel to learn more.
