Weâve noticed that some of you planning to meet in real life again (if covid restrictions allow for it of course)! :tada: Thanks for all the folks organizing through our #local channels! In case you want to take these informal meetups further, @Hannah (https://climate-tech.slack.com/team/UR8G3L938) created a handy document (https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1sNjJQ3P6o7b7pXQ7f_osCulm8wL4y4-bzLVyQgsWM3E/edit?usp=sharing) to help you start a local CAT meetup! Let us know if you need any help with that!
And now for more thank youâs:
   Last little note: if you havenât yet, please fill out our short 7 question survey (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScM4xfBiogHlSVEJJOtRq09WGeCk2hfWE5lvBerX2UAZUbAoQ/viewform) about climate justice! Itâll help us understand where weâre all at and plan an event that answers some of our community questions. ð¤ Podcasts The latest climate-related podcast episodes.
ð§ (https://www.myclimatejourney.co/cc-episodes/bill-weihl-climatevoice) (http://https://nori.com/podcasts/reversing-climate-change/Grounded-A-Fierce–Feminine-Guide-to-Connecting-with-the-Soilw-Dr–Erin-Yu-Juin-McMorrow–author-e10fc0v) S2E72: NFTs, carbon removal, & the music bizâw/ Imogen Heap, Grammy-winning artist (https://nori.com/podcasts/reversing-climate-change/S2E72-NFTs–carbon-removal—the-music-bizw-Imogen-Heap–Grammy-winning-artist-e14bgk8) Data in the music industry is incredibly fragmented. There is no one consistent place to go for information about a work. Itâs hard to know where songs are being played or who was involved in creating a piece of music. And this means that a lot of artists donât get royalties for their work.
ð§ (https://www.myclimatejourney.co/cc-episodes/bill-weihl-climatevoice) (http://www.sustainababble.fish/?p=1338) RE-RUN: #115: POPULATION (http://www.sustainababble.fish/?p=1347) Dashedly thorny issue, this. Isnât the real issue how much of a mess rich people are making of the planet, not how many poor people there are? Is talking about population inherently racist? And short of nuclear war, what could anyone nice realistically hope to be done about it anyway?
ð§ Building Leaderful Movements with Katie Eder & Guest Co-host Alice Garton (https://outrageandoptimism.libsyn.com/110-building-leaderful-movements-with-katie-eder-guest-co-host-alice-garton) In a week that has seen record temperatures occurring throughout the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada, a major hurricane that hit Barbados - the first in 60 years - and one of the warmest winters on record down south in New Zealand, this episode looks at the urgent call to action coming from the younger generation. Their call for transformational change applies not only to climate action, but in delivering meaningful social justice action and revaluating and redefining the very notion of leadership itself.
ð§ #142 - Electric Buses roll into Sydney (https://player.whooshkaa.com/player/playlist/show/1284/?sharing=true&visual=true&episode=852787) Globally countries are striving towards a transition from diesel and petrol vehicles to electric ones. In this episode we explore the electrification of New South Walesâ public transport, specifically buses.
ð§ REWIND: A FEMINIST CLIMATE RENAISSANCE (https://www.climateone.org/audio/rewind-feminist-climate-renaissance) A feminist approach to the climate conversation begins over a hundred and fifty years ago. Thatâs when a scientist named Eunice Newton Foote first recognized the heating effect of C02.
Don’t forget, if you’re looking around, there’s a list of podcasts maintained by CATs (https://www.degreespod.com/episodes/bonus-episodes) .
