One can plant a tree or practice regenerative farming in one’s garden plot, but there typically isn’t a lot else one can do.

ð° News Highlights
Who will pay? Europeâs bold plan on emissions risks political blowback (https://giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/actions/redeem/9bd62786-94f5-477d-93a2-ee298f2966e7) Reforms would set a carbon price for the majority of companies, but member states and activists worry the poor will suffer
âDig coal to save the climateâ: the folly of Cumbriaâs plans for a new coalmine (https://www.ft.com/content/340501e2-e0cd-4ea5-b388-9af0d9a74ce2?shareType=nongift) The long read: Supporters of a new coalmine have argued that it will reduce global warming and create green jobs. How could such absurd claims have gained any credibility? Good piece on how greenwash works in these cases.
Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to build new kind of nuclear reactor in Wyoming (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jun/03/bill-gates-warren-buffett-new-nuclear-reactor-wyoming-natrium) The project in Wyoming â the countryâs top coal-producing state â is a small advanced reactor that runs on different fuels to traditional ones
The good news and bad news for clean energy from LBNLâs nationwide interconnection study (https://www-canarymedia-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.canarymedia.com/articles/lbnls-nationwide-interconnection-survey-has-good-news-and-bad-news-for-clean-energy/amp/) Solar, wind and energy storage projects make up a massive share of grid interconnection requests, but theyâre taking longer to connect and dropping out more often.
Elon Muskâs Berlin Gigafactory Water Conflict Is Ongoing, Could Better Water Management Put Activists At Ease? (https://www.forbes.com/sites/mariannelehnis/2021/06/03/elon-musks-berlin-gigafactory-water-conflict-is-ongoing-could-better-water-management-put-activists-at-ease/?sh=7fe9af1b476a) Tesla moved bureaucratic mountains and chopped down trees to lay the groundwork for its fourth production plant, proudly set to feature the largest battery-cell manufacturing facility worldwide. Then forgot about its impact on water supplies, a growing issue globally.
