CAT began three years ago when Andy McWilliams put out a call for digital tech workers to join him at the peopleâs climate march (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_People%27s_Climate_March) . Along with Sam Collins and others, they decided on that march to start a global online community, naming it ClimateAction.tech, to support climate action at the workplace. CAT was born to provide a safe space for tech workers to connect and talk about sustainability initiatives which are often a sensitive topic for corporations.
After almost three years organising, Andy is now taking on an advisory role supporting the current crop of CAT organizers as we move into 2020. We all appreciate all the hard work Andy and the many other previous organisers have put into growing this into the incredible 1600+ community we are now.
