Filipino inquiry finds big polluters âmorally and legally liableâ for climate damage (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/may/06/filipino-inquiry-finds-big-polluters-morally-and-legally-liable-for-climate-damage) A seven year inquiry by the Philippines Commission on Human Rights has just concluded that fossil fuel companies are “morally and legally liable” for the impacts of the climate crisis because of their attempts to obstruct the global renewable transition. The report on effects of Typhoon Haiyan says fossil and cement firms engaged in âwilful obfuscationâ of science.
Boavista release an API for automated evaluation of environmental impacts of ICT services and equipment (https://boavizta.org/en/blog/boavizta-api-automated-evaluation-of-ict-impacts-on-the-environment) This release from French group Boavista is the first API to expose information for multiple criteria beyond carbon - like abiotic resource depletion (i.e. minerals and metals), and uses entirely open data.
