I’ve been nominated for the 2025 Eisner Award for Best Lettering! This…this feels pretty good. I made a conscious effort to produce Eisner-worthy work throughout 2024, and I’m glad to see it come to fruition. To everyone who put my name forward, thank you. Sincerely.

Wonder Woman is up for Best Continuing Series! Whu-oh, that’s us! Shoutout to Brittany “The Queen” Holzherr, whose name isn’t listed in the nomination, but deserves big credit nonetheless.
Both Animal Pound and Helen of Wyndhorn are up for Best Limited Series!
Both Absolute Batman and The Power Fantasy are up for Best New Series! I’d also like to shoutout Absolute Wonder Woman, one of the few books I read every month and don’t let sit in the “To Read” pile!
Daniel Worden’s Petrochemical Fantasies is up for Best Scholarly/Academic Work!
Tom King and Kelly Thompson are up for Best Writer, as is James Tynion IV. We haven’t worked together in a while, which is fine—I can enjoy his work as a reader this way. It’s really nice to see a genuinely good dude rise like he has. Shoutout to James.
Nick Dragotta and Bilquis Evely are both up for Best Penciller/Inker…among four other incredible talents. The choice is difficult!
Bilquis is also up for Best Cover Artist!
Mat Lopes and old chum Jordie Bellaie are both up for Best Coloring!
Becca Carey, my former apprentice/protégé/padawan learner, is also up for Best Lettering, and boy does she deserve it! She was one of the “How? HOW?!?!” letterers I was referring to in the last newsletter.
FML and Living Hell were both snubbed, which is the biggest crime against art since Children of Men at the 2007 Academy Awards.
Voting is open to any and all comic book industry professionals until June 5th. Vote strong!
