Claude Code v2.1.97: focus view, live status refresh
Focus view, live status refresh, and clearer agent visibility
A small but useful release focused on terminal readability, live prompt context, and making background agent activity easier to track.
You can now open a cleaner focus view that groups the prompt, tool summary, and final response together. If your sessions get long or noisy, this is the most visible usability improvement in v2.1.97.
The new refreshInterval option lets status lines update every N seconds. In practice, that makes custom prompt context much more useful for repo state, worktree hints, or any other live signal you surface in the terminal.
That gives custom status integrations direct access to worktree-aware context. It is a small change, but a meaningful one if you bounce between multiple working trees and want clearer visual grounding.
Agent types now display a live ● N running indicator. That makes background delegation easier to read at a glance instead of forcing you to infer whether work is actually happening.
This release is less about brand-new power features and more about reducing friction in everyday use. If you spend serious time inside Claude Code, better focus mode, fresher status lines, and clearer agent state make the tool feel calmer and easier to trust.
