Working Hard, Or Not Hard Enough? - Feb. 24th, 2026
Hello, fellow readers!
Quite a few things happened during these past two weeks including the following:
Sadie Rowe And The Missing Necklace IS PUBLISHED!🎉

My debut kidlit chapter book was published yesterday! 🎉I’m incredibly excited to share Sadie and Pearl’s story with all of you, especially to the young readers that this book is written for.
Also, the book is now available in paperback, for those who wanted the book in that version and not ebook. Thanks for your support, and happy reading!
What Am I Writing Lately?✍️
At first, I had no idea what to write, so I just wrote a lot of fanfiction as I mentioned on Bluesky a while back. None of it will ever see the light of day publicly, but it was good writing practice.
In terms of what I’m ACTUALLY writing lately, well…
Untitled Fantasy WIP
Status: 1st Draft/outlining in progress
Next steps: Continue drafting/outlining.
I’ve started working on a new WIP. It involves a villainous sorcerer who’s pathetically bad at being evil. He was the reason I posted this on Bluesky back on Feb. 11th.
My sorcerer accidentally kidnapped a princess. Emphasis on accidentally, because he didn’t realize she was the literal princess of the entire land until it was too late. Even worse? He can’t just let her go easily thanks to the specific spell he used to capture her having a time limit with no known spell to reverse it. This is a story not about the princess being trapped with the villain, but the villain being trapped with the princess. Hilarity ensues.
Also, if you’re curious about the vibes of this book (definitely leaning on comedic fantasy), you can find some fun lines from the WIP in this Bluesky thread I posted for fun!
Writing Problems
I’ve had a problem lately. I noticed that I tend to get into a state of wondering if I’m working hard, or not working hard enough. Being an indie author isn’t my full-time job. Unlike authors who discuss being a hobbyist vs. full-time author like author Kelsey Humphreys talked about in a Youtube video of hers that I watched recently, I’m in the weird inbetween.
It’s at times like these when I have to remember that I’m my own author, and I have to work at a pace that’s more sustainable for myself long-term. Every author’s writing journey is going to be different, and so mine will drastically differ from someone who’s writing full time and/or as a hobby.
Speaking of Youtube, however, I’ve realized that my recent Youtube shorts…have not been doing so well with views. At least, not the writing motivation-related short. And frankly, I really dislike how I’ve edited them now that I look back on them, so I’m probably not going to post too many more of those for a while. However, I really do want to post on Youtube more often about my writing journey, so feel free to give me some suggestions on what you’d like to see from me!
Other writing-related activities I did recently include:
Reached 1.7 followers on Bluesky! 🎉Thank you for your support!
Started formatting all of my seasonal sonnet poetry collection books!
Designed all of the book covers for my seasonal sonnet poetry collections! I’m seriously working in advance to have these prepped and ready for a 2027 release.
Did some more preparations for Found’s upcoming release in May 2026.
What Am I Reading Lately?
I’ve hit a little bit of a reading slump, lately. 😓 Because of this, I’ve spent most of my time rereading books like I Am Alice: Bodyswap In Wonderland manga series that I personally reviewed a couple of years ago.
I also tried reading the multiple ebooks I have on my ebook reader. However, that failed quickly because all of them fall into the romance genre (I mainly grabbed them because they were freebies from various giveaways), and I really didn’t feel like reading a lot of romance at the time. However, I did read a couple of newer books, which I’ll list below:
Books that were not re-reads that I actually read:
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
5 Worlds: The Sand Warrior by Mark Siegel (Author), Alexis Siegel (Author), Xanthe Bouma (Illustrator), Matt Rockefeller (Illustrator), and Boya Sun (Illustrator)
The Bakery Dragon And The Fairy Cake by Devin Elle Kurtz
Spy X Family, Vol. 14 by Tatsuya Endo
Making Your Creative Mark by Eric Maisel
