"Sadie Rowe" publishing in 13 days!- Feb. 10th, 2026

Hello, fellow readers!

I’ve been listening to Marie Digby and Kina Grannis’ song The Keeper quite a lot while writing lately, as well as many other tunes. A steady stream of music and motivational videos have helped me stay focused on the various everyday tasks at hand while chaos is happening in the world.

Today is also the first book birthday/anniversary of my debut poetry chapbook, Refilling The Well, being published! 🎉 I’m so proud of how much this book has resonated with readers. If you enjoyed reading Refilling The Well, leave a review so other readers learn about it and go check it out!

What Am I Writing Lately?✍️

Another Unusual Adventure

  • Status: Draft 3 is 100% written as of Feb. 3rd, 2026!🎉

  • Next Steps: Draft 3 might be the FINAL draft - examine for spelling/grammar/cohesiveness before confirming.

Since I wanted to ACTUALLY FINISH WRITING more books, as I mentioned in a post I made back in January, I’ve been focused on writing the Unusual Adventure trilogy…and it’s no longer a trilogy.

Instead, it’ll be two books that are in the same universe as each other, but can be read as standalones. I had to think about this for a while since late January, and I think it’s the right direction to go. Why?

  1. Both books have completely different main casts.

  2. Though one story clearly takes place after the other, the stories essentially function as standalone books.

Cue the beginning of February coming around, and…I might’ve already FINISHED WRITING both of the two Unusual Adventure books! And I…was stunned when I realized that happened. 🤯

I didn’t expect to finish writing BOTH books so early into this month, but apparently fate decided otherwise while I was deep in the editing/writing process. On one hand, it’s amazing because this means I’ve already completely finished writing two books after over 1-2 years of writing them. On the other hand…I now need to figure out which writing project to focus on for the rest of the month. 😅

  • Been posting the occasional Short on my Youtube Channel!

  • Preparing some author interviews.

What Am I Reading Lately?

As I mentioned late last year, I got the opportunity to be a judge for the 2025 Indie Ink Awards! I’ve read many books by the finalists by now, and…well, I’ve had some mixed opinions on them so far. The books are fine in concept, but they’re also not quite what I expected when I read them to judge for the categories they were nominated for - to my disappointment.

I will eventually write a blog post about this, and maybe create a Youtube video about it once the judging period is officially over. Unfortunately, the judging period doesn’t end until July 31st, 2026, so…that blog post will take a while. I want to wait until after the judging period is officially because I might read more finalists than the ones I’ve already read before then, and I want to speak about all of them in one post.

Outside of reading the Indie Ink Awards finalists, I also read Shoukei Matsumoto’s A Monk’s Guide to A Clean House & Mind! Reading this book helped motivate me to start decluttering my digital and IRL spaces! I’m so glad I FINALLY tackled getting a lot of old files off my computer, and got about 60+ GB of space back.

I’m also sorting through my physical bookshelf and getting rid of the ones that I no longer read/don’t enjoy anymore. This resulted in me re-reading MULTIPLE books (both non-fiction and original fiction) to figure out which ones to keep and which to send away.

Other books I read include:

  • King’s Quest: The Floating Castle by Craig Mills (reread, have previously reviewed before)

  • Kilala Princess (all 5 main volumes) written by Rika Tanaka and illustrated by Nao Kodaka, previously wrote this blog ranking all of the books!

  • Stop Worrying: Start Selling - The introvert author’s guide to marketing by Sarah Painter (another re-read, and glad that I re-read it!)

  •  A Love Affair With The Unknown by Gillian Deacon
