Preparing 2027 Publications - July 14th, 2026 Newsletter
Hello, readers!
Life has been rather busy lately, both writing-wise AND outside of writing.
Outside of writing: I just got a full-time summer job, and it started just yesterday! 🎉 I’m very happy to have this opportunity, and I look forward to the work I’ll be accomplishing during this time. 😁
Naturally, this also means that I will be much slower with writing my own novels. Please read on for more info about how this will affect my work.
In terms of what I’ve been up to writing-wise: Find out below!
Thank You For Your Support At Canada Fiction Fest! 🍁
THANK YOU to everyone who came out to watch my panels at Canada Fiction Fest! It was a huge honour to be part of a national author showcase for its first year running, and I hope to be back next year!
If you missed my panels, you can rewatch them on the Canada Fiction Fest Youtube channel at the following links until July 18th:
I really hope Canada Fiction Fest comes back next year, and I would love to participate in their panels again if given the chance to do so! 😃
THREE AUTHOR INTERVIEWS!
Thank you to Night Beats, Book Reader Magazine, AND Laura’s Books & Blogs for interviewing me during the past few weeks about my writing work! I really appreciate getting to speak about Sadie Rowe And The Missing Necklace and Found, my two newest books!

Other Writing-Related Activities I Did Include:
Attended the WriteHive 2026 Conference (July 10th-July 12th, 2026)
Set up book sales, as well as their associated emails and socials
Looked for more author interview opportunities
Formatted Sonnets of the Seasons for 2027 publication
Formatted the Harlow Mystery omnibus for 2027 publication
Formatted Nostalgiacore for 2027 publication
Created ARC Reader application forms for Sonnets of the Seasons and Nostalgiacore (I’ll likely start gathering ARC readers for Sonnets of the Seasons during late Autumn 2026)!
I finished writing Draft 1 of Book 2 of the Harlow Mystery sequel series! 🎉 I’m really glad that I got this first draft done, even if it is kind of a bare-bones draft compared to other first drafts I’ve written.
Since I literally just started a full-time summer job, this means that my writing will be even slower for the next two months. I’m still trying to figure out how much I can achieve writing-wise given my obvious schedule changes. We’ll see how much writing I get done with anything during the next few weeks!
Youtube Videos
I posted a video about how to give great author readings, based on my experience preparing for giving an author reading at Canada Fiction Fest!
I also posted a recap of my time taking part in two panels for Canada Fiction Fest!
I will have one more video that will be posted on July 16th for this month. It will focus on my experiences software beta-testing for the Storyrise writing app!
After that, I may need to take a short break from posting videos during August. This is due to my full-time summer job, as that takes first priority for me. Thanks for all of your patience!
What Have I Read Lately? 📚
I won a book giveaway back in May 2026, and I received all of the books back at around June 9th-10th!
I finally got to reading The Shards of Conduit by SN Yusuf and A Lion’s Head by DM De Alwis. These two books were written in genres that I typically don’t read and/or write in (sci-fi and historical fantasy respectively). I’ve also left reviews for each of the books (and The Never Not Broken by Gauri Prasad) on Goodreads, which you can read here, here, and here!
Other books I read recently include:
Grave Peril by Jim Butcher
Summer Knight by Jim Butcher
I Am Not A Robot by Joanna Stern
The entire Restaurant To Another World series by Junpei Inuzuka (re-read)
