Escaping Winter to get to Spring - March. 10th, 2026

Hello, fellow readers!

Thank you to everyone who supported the release of Sadie Rowe And The Missing Necklace, my debut kids’ fantasy chapter book, last month! I really appreciate all the support.

I was so fortunate to be INTERVIEWED by Hope Engel about Sadie Rowe And The Missing Necklace and it was so much fun! Check out the whole interview on Youtube.

Also, if you ever wanted a highlights reel of what I learned while writing recently, you’re in luck: I just posted a blog post a few days ago about everything that went WRONG (and RIGHT!) with publishing Sadie Rowe And The Missing Necklace. If you enjoy reading this one, let me know - I really enjoyed writing about the process!

Outside of this, I’m GLAD that winter is almost over! The sun’s been shining more, which I’m very grateful for, and I can finally see green grass outside my window for once, rather than constant blankets of snow everywhere. I hope the weather is just as fortunate for you, readers.

What Am I Writing Lately?✍️

Aside from the above, I posted a March 2026 writing update back on the 1st. and I mentioned that I just finished writing Draft #1 of the fantasy comedy novella which FINALLY has a working title: Oh No, I Accidentally Kidnapped A Princess!🎉

It’s a very rough draft (the last chapter is literally just bullet points jotting down what I want to happen to wrap up the story), but I’m glad that it’s written! Also, if you don’t write the first draft, you’ll have nothing to edit, just like Dan Povenmire mentioned in this fun Youtube short.

After I finished writing Draft #1, my brain felt EXHAUSTED and drained of creative energy. It was then that I remembered what once wrote for a Youtube Short I posted a while back: You gotta replenish the well that is your imagination. If you don’t, the well will run dry, and then you’ve got nothing to work with while writing.

So, I took a few days off writing. Turns out I also needed them to work on many other writing-related activities, which includes:

Other writing-related activities I did recently include:

  • Formatting the complete Harlow Mystery series omnibus/collection. This includes finalizing cover design, formatting the interior documents, and other technical matters like getting those ISBNS registered.

  • Creating a lot more social content for the upcoming release of Found. I’m experimenting with making some reels (and a full book trailer may or may not happen!) to see if that’ll be more easily shared with new readers.

What Am I Reading Lately?

I bought a whole bunch of fantasy books from Book Outlet late last month, and I’ve read through all of them already. Also, with winter FINALLY starting to end, I’m actually getting back into going to the library more often to grab books from there to read!

Cover of Pages & Co.: The Bookwanderers by Anna James!

One book I really enjoyed reading was Pages & Co.: The Bookwanderers by Anna James! If you ever wanted to talk to fictional character, you’ll be envious of Tilly, our main heroine, since she gets to chat with Alice from Alice In Wonderland and Anne from Anne of Green Gables.

Other books I read include:

  • Hashtag Authentic by Sara Tasker

  • Dating & Dismemberment by A.J. Brody

  • The Coming Wave by Mustafa Suleyman

  • Apprentice Lord Of Darkness by CED Cedric Asna

  • Spy x Family, Vol. 15 by Tatsuya Endo

  • The Last Hope School For Magical Delinquents by Nicki Pau Preto

Aside from books, I read this interesting article about how our increasingly-tech-oriented environments have led to a decline in literacy. I also read this article about how creative activities are increasingly reduced to what benefits they bring us vs. doing them for the sake of doing them.
