wow. i last wrote ya'll in Janurary and I had such plans and ideas for the year. Not sure how any of those will go now that pretty much everything is upside down. its been rough.

i'm ok and i hope you are ok. trying to spend more time outside and on my bicycle which helps.
its been hard to focus but i have got a few things out since janurary that i want to tell you about.

1) there is this really neat online real-time collaboration live stream called "Principles of Non-isoloation in Audio". they use a server called nimjam that allows people to literally jam in real-time from all of our respective studios. its pretty wild and really lit up parts of my brain that have been quite dormant these past few months. i was asked to join last weeks show and it was amazing. here is a recording of the full show. there are 2 duet sets then all 4 of us play together at the end. subscribe to their twitch stream to be alerted to the next sets. they are usually sunday evenings (~7pm CST) 

2) today is Juneteenth and bandcamp is donating their portion of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense fund. In addition the wonderful Brent Gutzeit has put together a compilation of over 106 tracks of noise/jazz/experimental stuff and will be donating proceeds to Chicago Greater Food Depository and Black Lives Matter. I'm honored that I was asked to contribute. Lots of great music on it.


While we are on the topic of bandcamp fridays which have been happening for a couple months now and have resulted in a lot more of ya'll buying my music which is very kind. I wanted to let you know that I dont keep any of the money you send, and either spend it back on bandcamp buying more music or donating it to My Hood My Block My City which is a really amazing organization in Chicago and Chicago Bail Fund
