Autumn-ish update
Hello all,
As always I hope this finds you well. I just wanted to touch base briefly.
1) in case you missed the automatic emails from bandcamp I just released 3 EP's. I've been working on them since about this time last year and I really like them but couldn't find the time or energy to make them into tapes as I had hoped. Instead of just out right deleting them I give them to you. For Free
Silence of the oncoming train tells a story of a train (played by the rhodes keyboard) and a person (played by the guitar). Time slows down such that seconds take hours.
Recesses of (Nature (part II)) continues on the themes of Nature (part I), sounds that reminded me of rainforests and water.
Sometimes never is soon enough also comes in a edition of 5 photos that I printed using Pt/Pd process onto watercolor paper.
If you're in Chicago, I am playing my last solo show of the year at Elastic (facebook event) on Nov 5th. The headliner is Tristan Eckerson touring on a wonderful piano album Trozo. Volutes is also playing. Should be a fun and wonderful evening.
Lastly, most of my creative time this autumn has been consumed with working on a 4 speaker performance/installation at High Concept Labs. In July I was one of the 10 artists selected to be a Sponsored artist at HCL for the Fall (September-December). My goal is to use this time to create something that is more than just me playing a guitar in front of you. I aim to encourage audience participation for this piece to add to the spontaneity of the performance. I've been making video's over on my instagram and posting some mixes from my practice sessions over on my tumblr if you want to see the process unfold. I am really honored to have been selected and I hope to present some final version of the piece/performance next year. I promise to keep you updated on when that happens.
as always, thank you for your time. I'm going to eat some ice cream now.
