This is a very long book and a thorough account of Rockefeller’s life, from early childhood until his passing. Titan recounts how John D. started Standard Oil and became the world’s first billionaire. His business dealings are thoroughly scrutinized, covering accusations of collusion, predatory pricing, and the bribery of political figures, as well as the three decades he spent evading allegations and investigations. Overall, this was an interesting read, but it’s just too long and contains too much information, causing it to drag in certain parts. I would have rated it higher if it were more concise.
